he Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries has launched a Fisheries Development Program aimed at improving fish production, processing, and marketing in communities along the Nile River and surrounding wetlands.

The initiative will provide fishing equipment, training on sustainable fishing practices, and support for fish preservation technologies to reduce post-harvest losses.

The program is expected to benefit thousands of fishermen and women while contributing to food security and employment opportunities for youth.

Officials noted that South Sudan possesses vast fisheries resources with significant potential to support local livelihoods and increase national fish production.
