The Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries is implementing the South Sudan Resilient Livestock Sector Project, a flagship initiative aimed at strengthening the livestock sector and improving the resilience of livestock-dependent communities across the country.
Funded by the World Bank and implemented in close collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the project focuses on improving animal health and welfare systems, strengthening veterinary services, promoting integrated rangeland management, and enhancing sustainable livestock production practices.
The project seeks to reduce the impact of livestock diseases, improve productivity, support pastoralist livelihoods, and strengthen the capacity of communities to adapt to environmental and economic challenges. Through targeted investments, technical assistance, and community engagement, the project contributes to food security, economic growth, and the sustainable development of South Sudan’s livestock sector.
The Ministry remains committed to working closely with development partners, local communities, and stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the project and to maximize its long-term benefits for livestock producers throughout South Sudan.
